Four Seasons – Hello Spring

Hello! So glad you stopped by. Today’s card is for the first challenge for “SPRING” over at the Four Seasons Challenge. We will be featuring spring for the months of March, April, and May, and our challenges are always “anything goes” as long as they represent the current season. We do provide an inspirational photo to give you ideas but you’re free to come up with your own ideas too!

The card I made uses a fun technique to create the background. I used a cover die but only embossed with it. (Done with an embossing pad under the cardstock to prevent the cutting, leaves only an impression.) I then used some white ink on a blending brush, and with the die still in place I used it like a stencil to fill in just the open areas. The coverage takes well because those areas are already a little bit raised.

The flowers are from an Altenew set, stamped in peach and yellow, one of my favorite color combinations. I added a few pearls for embellishment.
