Happy Hour

Besides making this for my friend’s birthday, I also wanted to join the latest challenge at Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge (#199) where the theme this time is “rainbow.” The stamps I used are from a set called “Cocktail Mixers.”

I used a technique I recently learned in a stencil class I took. After ink blending the background with rainbow colors I placed it on the die cut platform, put a stencil over it, then covered it with a baby wipe. I ran it through the machine and the pressure on the baby wipe pulls up some of the ink, but only through the openings of the stencil. It also adds just a little texture too, which gives it a really neat look!

I would like to join in these additional challenges:

Stencil Fun June Challenge – anything goes but must use a stencil

Pammie’s Inky Pinkies #2322 – anything goes

Colorful Options June – rainbow option

Allsorts #731 – anything goes + option to use die cuts
