Give Thanks Sunflowers

I have not one, but two challenges to share today. I kind of got off easy on one, and that is the challenge at Always Fun (#181). The theme there is “Anything Goes” this week. You have through Saturday to link up any card or project you want!

My second challenge to share is at Double Trouble (#67). The graphic below gives a summary of the challenge, but to see all the details head on over to the Double Trouble blog. You will also find some great inspiration by the rest of the design team there as well.

Thing 1 is asking for a card inspired by the given sketch, which features something that is either “on, off, or over the edge.” This is the only thing the challenge requires, but Thing 3 is the option of going beyond the sketch by using one of the techniques you can find at Double Trouble. I used partial die cutting to cut out only part of the sunflower.

I would also like to enter my card in these additional challenges:

The Card Concept #139 – photo inspiration

The House That Stamps Built #S1620 -color palette

The Crafter’s Cafe #251 – “Season”

Crafty Gals Corner #211 – Fall Colors

Cute Card Thursday #652 – Autumn

  1. Pretty fall card, Melanie! The colors are rich and the layout is nicely balanced. I lived in Kansas and am reminded of the huge fields of sunflowers.

  2. Lovely card, Melanie! Great job coloring the sunflower, too! I like the “sprinkles” you used to fill in the white space since it balances the card quite nicely! Thank you for sharing your card with us at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!!! -Donna

  3. Pretty card. Thanks for entering your wonderful creation in our Seasons challenge at The Crafter’s Cafe this fortnight.

  4. Unique and beautiful card, Melanie. Thank you for sharing with us at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday #476.
