A Ride in the Park

I created this card for two challenges starting today: Always Fun #179 – create a card based on the given color inspiration board and at Double Trouble #66 the challenge is to create a scene, with the option of including a mode of transportation.

Thing 1 over at Double Trouble is asking that you “Make a Scene” for your project – that is the only requirement you have to meet to join in the challenge. If you want to go one step further, Thing 3 is giving you the optional twist to include a mode of transportation on your project. Finally, if you want to take on Thing 2’s Double Dare then you can link up your project at The Paper Girls Challenge as well.

The stamps I used on this card are the “Sheltering Tree” set from Stampin’ Up! and the bicycle is from Stamps of Life (although I copied and reduced the size to be more proportional to the card.) Finally the little squirrels are from My Favorite Things. The finishing details I added were some glitter around the edges of the clouds, some shimmer on the bike and the background. I also heat embossed the sentiment with clear/sparkle embossing powder.

I would also like to enter the following challenges:

Cut It Up! (#208) – Must have a wheel/wheels on your card

Moving Along With the Times (#122) – Create a Scene

2 Crafty Critter Crazies (#42) – must have a critter on your card

International Art & Soul (#91) – Include an animal

Cute Card Thursday (#650) – Anything goes, but must be cute!

  1. Cute card! I’m a sucker for bikes on cards. I think they are just adorable. Those soft colors are perfect!

  2. Such a sweet scene, Melanie! I like that you created a slimline card. I have also used my copy machine to reduce image sizes and I think it’s perfect for the scale of your card. — Melanie R
