Cards for Tuesday

Got my work done early yesterday so spent the rest of the day in the craft room! There were quite a few challenges I had ideas for so here’s what I came up with.

First is my card for Just Us Girls #559, which was the inspiration photo shown below. I knew I had the perfect embossing folder, and a new set I hadn’t even used yet from Honey Bee Stamps. I also want to submit this card to Krafty Chicks #530 – theme is “occasions” this week, and also to Sieze the Birthday #202 – anything goes, but also using the optional challenge of “texture.”

Next up is my card for the Paper Players #514, which this week is a sketch challenge (pictured below). I live in Arizona and these stamps are sold at an independent stamp store and made by a local artist. I stamped the images with black, then masked them to blend the colored background. The border was hand drawn (except for the “Hello”). I confess I copied it from a stamp in the set, but it didn’t fit my base so I had to improvise. I am pretty good at drawing crooked lines in general so I thought I could handle this!

My next card is for the challenge at Color Hues #4. The color combination this time is orange and blue. I decided to use an alcohol ink background I had made a while ago to create a fishbowl scene. I’ve also never used the sentiment before so thought this would be a good choice.

My final card is for the challenge at CAS(e) this Sketch #395. I used another alcohol ink background I had made a while ago. The grapes are a stamp from Technique Tuesday which I colored with Copic markers and cut out. I embossed a small piece to go behind them and highlighted it with a little gold ink, which unfortunately you can only see in real life!
