New Year Snowflake

Greetings and here’s hoping the new year is off to a good start for you! I haven’t had a chance to use one of my favorite die sets yet (these layered snowflakes) so I was happy to see there were still some challenges with winter or snowflake themes to join in. I also combined them with some Happy New Year themes!

My card was made by blending some Black Soot Distress Oxide ink on a white card base, and adding some white paint splatters mixed with some very fine glitter. This was inspired by the challenge at CAS Mix Up for January.

I then die cut 2 of the 3 layers from the Glitz snowflake set (Birch Press Designs), one with black glitter paper, and the top with a shimmery white. I heat embossed the sentiment and cut it into 3 separate pieces before adhering it to the card base.

I would like to play along in these additional challenges:

Kat Scrappiness January Challenge – “Winter”

Challenge Up Your Life #131 – “Snowflakes”

Ink {K} Spire_me #439 – Happy New Year

Dies R Us #160 – Happy New Year (used Birch Press Designs dies)

Cut It Up! #216 – “Winter”
