Chinese New Year for Festive Friday Challenge

Today’s challenge at Festive Friday (#FF0076) is in recognition of the Chinese New Year, which is being celebrated February 12. Our Inspo List consists of 10 items that were inspired by this festivity, and to participate in the challenge all we require is that you incorporate any 3 (or more) of the items from the list into your creation. Whether it reflects the Chinese New Year (or not!) is totally up to you.

My card ended up being kind of simple. I used some matte gold card stock for the lanterns and the background. The red piece was die cut, but then I added the texture with an die cut plate. The symbols down the side are from a stamp that I heat embossed with clear powder. That is a great way to add some shine and a little texture.

  2. Beautiful, Melanie! I love the stitched background and beautiful die cut lanterns. The Chinese characters down the side add so much interest.
