Happy Heart Day

It’s time to get some Valentine’s ready to mail, so I found some inspiration from a few current challenges. Way back when I was in grade school and we passed out Valentine’s to all the other kids I always made my own. At the time I hated that my mom wouldn’t buy any with cartoon characters or that came with candy, but I guess she wanted me to put a little thought and work into it (or just keep me busy for a while!)

I got started by the challenge at the Paper Players (#526) which is a tic-tac-toe board. I went on the diagonal with die-cut, embossing, and blue.

I used the colors that were from the challenge at CAS Colors & Sketches (#405) as well as making my card a clean and simple design.

The steps for making this card were simple, I put to use an embossing folder I had never used before, which I used right on the card base. I die cut the hearts, heat embossed the sentiments in white, and arranged them on the base. The middle heart has 3 layers of card stock to keep it a little more sturdy.

I would also like to join in the challenge at Little Red Wagon (#587) with the theme “total eclipse of the heart” and the challenge at CAS Challenge at Happy Little Stampers who has a theme of “love is in the air!”
