Alphabet Challenge – “W”

Hello, welcome and thanks for taking a look at today’s card. I took a break from all the Valentine’s, hearts, pinks and reds to create a card for the new challenge at the Alphabet Challenge. We are on the letter “W” this time, and to go with it we are looking for a theme of woodland flora and/or fauna. This is a two week challenge so if you would like to link up a card you can do so until Thursday, 2/25.

I started by using a tree stamp from Stampin’ Up’s set called “Winter Woods.” I stamped with black Versafine ink then heat embossed it with clear powder so that it would resist the ink I blended in the background. Next I cut an edge to make the snowbank, and blended a little gray on the edges. I then die cut some deer from another Stampin’ Up set and punched the little bunnies from an old Easter punch. I arranged all my pieces on the card base, and added the “peace” sentiment. Some final details included the gold star, and some shimmer pen over the snowbank.
