Birthday Blooms

Greetings! I have been trying to find time to do a little coloring, especially since I have several new flower stamps that haven’t even been used yet. Today I was motivated to set aside my housework (didn’t take much!) and join a few challenges.

The floral image I used is from Pinkfresh Studio, and I thought it worked well with the sketch challenge at the Paper Players (#530) this week.

I chose the colors for my flowers by looking at some other challenges, and decided I really liked the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge (#632). There’s something about peach and yellow together that just seems so bright and fresh!

My flowers are colored with Copic markers, then die cut. The background was embossed with a heart folder and to brighten it up a little I used a little sparkly shimmer spray on it. I heat embossed the birthday sentiment on white, but it seemed kind of lost, so I redid it in black – much better! Finally a little glitter glue was added to the tiny flowers and the flower centers.

I would also like to join in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, which has a theme of “Beautiful Blossoms” this week.
