World Frog Day for Festive Friday

I never realized there was such a thing as World Frog Day, but it’s coming up on March 20, and that is the festivity we are featuring at the new Festive Friday Challenge. The Inspo List shown below names 10 items that were inspired by World Frog Day. To join in the challenge just choose any 3 (or more) items from the list to use on your card or project. You can choose any theme you want, it doesn’t have to reflect the festivity at all!

The three items I used on my card were green, cattails/reeds, and twine. I started by stamping, coloring, and carefully cutting out the cattail stamp. The stamp is from my Technique Tuesday’s Greenhouse Society stamp of the month collection.

The background was a scrap from an alcohol ink background I had left in my “bits and pieces” basket. I used a rough edged die to cut it out, along with another that was a little bigger in the brown. I used some twine to tie it all together, arranged the layers, and added a few pearls to finish it off.

  1. Absolutely LOVE this card, Melanie! The background is gorgeous. I wish I had scraps like that in my “bits and pieces” basket. The rough edge is perfect! Awesome!!!

  2. This is absolutely stunning. I LOVE the background snippet that you used for those wonderful reeds and cat tails. Love the way you placed your deckled panels and the twine is the perfect touch. Fabulous card.
