Magical Day

Today is the start of two new challenges, and my card was made for both: at Make the Cards Challenge (#8) we have a color challenge this week and at Double Trouble (#79) we have a magical theme.

The challenge at Make the Cards runs for a week, so if you would like to join in, the link up will be open through Saturday evening. All you need to do is create a card that highlights the three colors shown, with any theme, products, or techniques you want!

At Double Trouble the only requirement to enter is to create a card or project with a theme relating to something “magical” – fairies, gnomes, magicians, wands, rainbows, etc. If you wish to join in the optional challenge all that asks for is to use a die cut. Finally, we are pairing up with Dies R Us Challenge (#165) so if you used a die cut you can link up there too! Both of these challenges run for two weeks so you have plenty of time to join.

To create my background I first blended blue, green, and yellow ink on some card stock. I used a cover die from My Favorite things, that made the colored frame, then I cut it again on white. I embossed the pieces before inlaying them into the frame. The image is from Unity Stamp Co., and the sentiment I printed from my computer. After I die cut those out with the circles I thought they looked kind of lost on the white background, so I added a layer of silver glitter paper behind them. Finally I cut some matching stars to add a little more of the challenge colors.

Thanks for visiting and hope you have a magical day!

Additional Challenges:

Cut It Up! #221 – Just for Kids

Allsorts #615 – Stamped Image

Just Us Girls #575 – Use an embossing folder
