Thanks for visiting, I have a guest designer post today for the new challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge (#556) – this week the theme is “All Occasions” – create a card for any holiday or special occasion you want.
I started by getting out some Nuvo glimmer paste and used a stencil to make the background. I will admit that I kind of like to do messy projects once in a while, but usually do them in multiples so I have some ready to go for future use. I liked how this one turned out so decided to use it for my card. The stamp is from Impression Obsession, one that I have had in my drawer but never used before, not sure why that is, because I really like it! I stamped it with Versifine black ink and heat embossed it with clear powder to add a little shine and dimension.
I’m not sure how I came up with the rest of the details- the embossing, the extra piece in the corner, the black thread, the rhinestones, I guess I was just randomly adding whatever drew my attention! I finished with a look that is a little outside my normal style, but I guess that is one of the reasons I enjoy playing in challenges – it encourages trying new things!
