CAS Thanks

It’s still rather hot here in Arizona, but as a card challenge addict and collector of stamps, I am definitely in the mood to make something for fall! I made this card for several different challenges so I could use one of my newest stamps!

I followed the sketch challenge from CAS Colours & Sketches #437, which you can see below. I also used the colors from the fall photo inspiration at the Card Concept #159 with a clean and simple style.

The QUICK and SIMPLE details: I stamped my image first, and to mimic the horizontal area on the sketch I decided to use some texture. I used my scoring board to add the lines, but they didn’t really show up too well, so I used a blending brush to add some color to them. The pumpkin is from Reverse Confetti, and I used Copic markers to color it, using the colors in the photo (except I just wasn’t able to work the purple in!) The “Thanks” is cut from a Happy Thanksgiving die, which I just got, but can’t remember where it was from. (I definitely made too many orders during all the Labor Day sales!) Finally I added a few dots of perfect pearls to the flower centers.

I would also like to join in the challenge at Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash #19 – Halloween or Fall

  1. Stunning card and beautifully coloured! I love the scored lines. I often do that and never thought to colour over the lines – thanks for the inspiration! Thanks so much for joining our sketch challenge at CC&S 🙂

  2. This is beautiful Melanie!! I love to use fall stamps too even though there is no fall in Florida. Your interpretation of the sketch is fabulous. Thanks so much for playing along with us at the CC&S challenge blog this week!

  3. This is certainly a great way to bring in fall, no matter what the weather feels like! LOVE this little pumpkin and your background brings that sketch to life! Thanks for sharing this with us at The Card Concept!

  4. What a stunner this is Melanie! I love the pumpkin image, decorated with flowers and you have coloured it beautifully. I have tried adding colour to scored lines in the past and it has NOT been a success, so I am very impressed at how effective you’ve made yours. Thank you for coming to play with us at CAS Colours and Sketches 🙂 Vicky x
