Warm Wishes

Today starts our regular challenge at Double Trouble (#97). We also have a special challenge going on as part of the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop, so be sure to check that out too!

The graphic below is a quick summary of what our new challenge is all about. To enter the only thing you need to do is follow the “Peek-a-Boo” theme, and you can interpret that any way you want. The optional twist is to include twine, string, ribbon, etc. and if you want to take on the Double Dare you can play along with the sketch challenge at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday (#533).

The QUICK and SIMPLE details of my card: I used a die cut from My Favorite Things to cut out the coffee mug. The image is from Gerda Steiner designs, and the folder I used is made by Richard Garay. After I embossed the green paper I went over it with a blending brush in white ink. I cut the circle through both layers of the card front, then cut another circle out of that to add to the inside. You can see how that worked out below (closed view then open). I found a sentiment from a set by the Stamps of Life that fit perfectly in the mug!

  1. Adorable kitten, and love the embossed tree sprigs and adding of some white brushing to them. The color of them remind me of the Blue Spruce my dad always bought home a week before Christmas. Pretty and adorable card.

    1. Now I see you have combined Gerda’s kitty with the MFT mug – brilliant idea! Love this card!

  2. Oh, Melanie, your kitty card is so sweet! I like how you made the background of the circle the same as your card front! It makes for a nice surprise when you open it! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us at Try Stampin’ on Tuesday!!! -Donna
