Make the Cards Challenge #52

It’s time for a new challenge at Make the Cards (#52). This time we have a very simple theme, which is to use any shade of yellow on your card. You are free to use other colors, but we would like to see yellow as the dominant color.

I started by ink blending a background, going from darker to lighter yellow. I spritzed it with some glimmer spray, clear and green. I don’t think it shows up too well in the photo, but in real life adds a very pretty look. I still thought it was kind of blah, so I stamped the script over the whole thing.

The flowers are die cuts from a set by Brutus Monroe. I added a little yellow sponging to the edges of the flowers, along with some shimmery middles. I wanted some kind of a fancier border so I cut a frame from a die set by My Favorite Things. The Mother’s Day sentiment and banner were added to finish it off.

Additional Challenges:

Inkspirational #262 – flower photo

Colorful Options – April “Yellow”

Crafter’s Cafe #283 – use some flowers

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge – Spring/Easter

Die Cut Divas Tic Tac Toe – First column: more than 2 layers, yellow, flowers
