Can You Handle the Pressure? – Things With Wings

Can You Handle the Pressure has a new challenge starting today! This challenge requires that you must use an embossing folder while creating your card. The theme is always “anything goes, ” however there’s also an optional twist you can play along with each time if you want. For this challenge the optional twist is “things with wings.”

I fell in love with this penguin set from Hero Arts, but wasn’t sure if a penguin really had wings. Well I did a little research and determined that yes, a penguins flippers are wings, but they have been adapted for swimming. I was happy to learn this so I could continue on with my card!

I used a background that was “smooshed” with blue Distress Oxide ink. I ran it through my die cut machine with a wavy lined folder, but as you can see it really just cracked the paper. I was OK with that because the white really just added more of a feel of snow. I also cut a snow bank and ran that through with the same folder, which turned out a little better. I added some glitter glue to give the look of snow. The ice bergs were cut and shaded a little, with some more glitter glue. A few bigger snowflakes were added to the background, along with a wintery birthday sentiment.
