Sunflower Wreath

Today’s post is for two challenges – first is the Paper Funday Challenge, a great challenge site that always features an “anything goes” theme, along with an optional twist each month. For September the optional twist is “fall,” and the sponsor for the challenge is AMB Illustrations. The image I used to create my card is called “Sunflower Wreath.” The other challenge this is for is at Stinkin’ Inkers, whose challenge for the month is “Times Three.” You can be creative with that idea, as long as your card or project has some element that is repeated three times. You can see that even though not exactly the same, my card features three sunflowers.

I really enjoy detailed coloring so I knew this image would be a fun one for me. After coloring it I found a fancy die cut to frame it with. I cut the same die cut out in gold glitter paper and used the little pieces I popped out from around the edge to inlay in the frame. As if that wasn’t enough sparkle I added a little more to the centers of the flowers. I finished it off with a sentiment that I heat embossed and adhered to the card.

  1. Gorgeous card, Melanie. Great job coloring the sunflowers. Also wanted to let you know that the themes for next year’s challenges are posted on the Team Blog. Let me know what you think.
