Be Thankful

Welcome Friday! Today’s card is for the Alphabet Challenge. We are on to the letter “Q” and the challenge is to feature a quote on your card. I chose a quote that would allow me to make this into a Thanksgiving card. If you would like to link up a card (or any paper project) you have 2 weeks! Hope you can join in.

I always check out what challenges are going on to get some ideas. When I saw the tic-tac-toe challenge at Joy of Sets I knew I wanted to use vellum on my card. I heat embossed the quote on some vellum, and then tore the edges around it. Since the leaves from the back showed through I tore another piece of white cardstock to put behind it. This allowed me to raise up the whole thing so you could see the edges of the vellum.

Right column: vellum, baker’s twine, thanks

I was inspired by the colors from the challenge at the House That Stamps Built #N1820.

To finish off my card I added some baker’s twine and a little bow, and stamped the inside so I could send this off to my family in Missouri in time for Thanksgiving!

I would like to enter my card in these additional challenges:

Modsquad Challenge – Thanksgiving Turkey

International Art and Soul #96 – Gratitude

Make My Monday – Elegant Fall/Autumn
