Purple Flowers

Another card to share today, this one I did some water color “smooshing” instead of coloring. It opens up a whole new look for so many of my flower stamps!

These flowers were from a monthly Simon Says Stamp kit called “Look for the Rainbow.” I heat embossed the flowers with a pearl powder, it shows up well, but isn’t quite as bright as using white. I then used some distress oxide inks spritzed with water to make some ink puddles for smooshing the flowers in. I added several layers to get the look I wanted, then fussy cut them out.

These challenges led me to my final card:

Cut It Up! #220 – black and white w/a pop of color (my “pop” ended up kind of large!)

The Flower Challenge #54– shades of purple

Double D Challenges – Book Covers inspiration – Since I used purple I followed the shape of the flower cluster on the upper right book, and also used black as the background for them

And these additional challenges all are asking for flower themes:

Crafting Happiness #87 – flowers

Try it on Tuesday Challenge – Say it with flowers

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Beautiful blooms
