Cut It Up Background Challenge

Hello! My card today is for the new challenge at Cut It Up! Challenge where I am happy to be a guest designer for challenge #231. The theme is to make your own background. The only other requirement is that somewhere on your card or project you use a die cut.

The idea for my background came from a recent post at Splitcoast Stampers, where the floating strips technique was highlighted. I have a set of dies that cut different sized stitched strips that I used to try it out with.

I chose some papers that I liked and then matched the colors on my image with them. Now that I have almost completed my Copic marker collection I have just about any color I need!

I used a paper distresser to rough up the edges around the image and finished it off by die cutting a sentiment to add to the design.

Additional Challenges:

Sweet Stampin’ – create your own background

Krafty Chicks #570 – anything goes

Crafting Happiness #106 – anything goes

Cardz 4 Gals #152 – dies and/or punches
