Miscellaneous Makes

The Labor Day sales really got me good this year, resulting in a lot of new stuff being added to my craft supply stash. To get some ideas for using it I found some challenges to join in!

This is a stamp from a new monthly kit by Altenew, called “Hello Beautiful.” I think coloring flowers is one of my favorite ways to spend my free time, and this kit had some really pretty images. I paired it up with a Tim Holtz die, which I backed with some purple card stock. I added some purple splatters and a few glass beads to finish it off. I chose my colors from the challenge at Color Hues (#26) which are pink and purple. I also used the photo from Just Add Ink (#572). I would also like to join in the challenge at Through the Purple Haze (#184) which is anything goes but using rounded corners.

This is a new stamp from Colorado Craft Company. They have some of the funnest, cutest images that are also great to color. I used the color challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare (#461). The challenge is to use two complementary color combinations, that is any 4 that would meet at the corners of a rectangle as pictured below. I used green and red with yellow and purple.

Other challenges: Colour Crazy (#36) – anything goes with coloring, Pammie’s Inky Pinkies (#2137) – anything goes, Dare2BArtzy Sept. Challenge – card for baby/kid/teen, Dragonfly Dreams – Happy Birthday

This card was a quick make for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches (#503). I have a lot of Halloween paper and thought putting these 3 together would work well for the sketch. With all the Halloween paper I have I could probably make a few thousand of these cards! It’s really a great sketch and I could easily change the ghost to a pumpkin or a witch, or anything Halloween.

Other challenges for this card: Send a Smile 4 Kids – cute Halloween or fall card, Two Old Bats – anything goes for Halloween.

  1. I resisted the urge to shop over Labor Day – I have so much in unused items – but it wasn’t easy! Your Color Dare slimline card is so cute., Melanie. Perfectly chosen colors and I love that big block of cheese. Thank you for playing along with us at Color My Heart Color Dare #461. (Can you tell me about the rectangle die with the dots and dashes?)

  2. I love that mouse with the huge pile of presents (reminds me of the old IKEA commercial with the purchases stacked high on the little car). The cheese naturally has to be at the top! Great idea – love the card! Thanks for sharing wth us at Colour Dare 🙂
