Quilting Card

My card today was created as inspiration for the new challenge starting at the Alphabet Challenge, where we are on the letter Q. The theme for Q (chosen by me!) was “quilt.”

I got a kind of late start on this card, but was finally inspired by the colors I saw at the current challenge at The Paper Players #617. I pulled out a cover die (from Divinity Designs) that looks like a quilt design and has stitching on each piece. I first cut it in black to get the border, then with several other papers to get a variety of colors to fill in each space, basically like doing a puzzle!

I’m not sure it would make sense to someone who is not into quilting why I chose to use a needle and thread on my card, or why I chose the “Peace on Earth” sentiment, but since my mother-in-law is a big time quilter I know she will get it when I give her this card at Christmas!

Additional Challenges:

Happy Little Stampers – anything goes with Dies

Dragonfly Dreams – Christmas

  1. Melanie, that die is gorgeous and you used it beautifully. The mixture of papers is fabulous and they just pop off that black background. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us at the Paper Players this week
