Reverse Stenciling

Had time to use a brand new stamp set today, and created this card for the challenge at the Paper Players. This week is a sketch challenge:

The set is from Pinkfresh Studios, and it was part of an online event held last weekend. The image was stamped and heat embossed with a pearl embossing powder. I’m not sure if reverse stenciling is the correct term, but the stencil covers the white areas allowing the color(s) to be blended over it by filling in the empty space. The set also contains additional stencils which color in the images.

I would also like to join in a new challenge starting today, called Triple B – Birds, Butterflies, and Blooms, where your card must include at least one of the three.

  2. Melanie, First of all we have twin dogs. Our old girl, she’s 14, is a lab mix and looks just like your big dog. We also had a sweet little mixed black dog until a few years ago. It was like looking at one of our photos.
Your card is so pretty. I like the blend of colors and the embossing on the card base. Thanks for playing this week with The Paper Players Sketch Challenge. Suzy

  3. I just love all the blended colors and embossed design on this pretty card! The black sentiment perfectly showcases everything! Thanks for playing along with the first Triple B challenge! (Carol, GD)

  4. What a beautiful card Melanie! I just love that sweet little hummingbird and the textured background is a beautiful detail. Thank you so much for joining us this week over at The Paper Players!
