Festive Friday #FF0141 – National Beach Day

It’s Festive Friday! We have a new challenge starting today, and this time our festivity is “National Beach Day.” We used that to come up with ten items for our Inspo List, and if you would like to join the challenge just choose any 3 (or more) of those items to use on your card or project. Whether or not you follow the theme of the festivity is totally up to you!

The items I chose from the Inspo List were texture, sand, shells, and sea. The sand on my card is torn from a piece of sand paper and placed on a water colored background.

I used sand castle die cuts made by Honey Bee Stamps and the small images are from Lawn Fawn, colored and fussy cut. A sentiment that is also from Honey Bee Stamps was added to finish my card.

  1. Melanie, the sandpaper is perfect and I love the watercolor effects on the other pieces. Looks like a perfect day at the beach.

  2. This is a delightful scene and I recently used sandpaper on a beach scene myself. Makes it much more realistic don’t you think? Where I live there is a sandcastle competition each summer so your card reminds me of that too. Thanks for joining us at cardz4galz, Johanna DT

  3. Melanie I love the use of the sandpaper layer and combined with the watercoloured background adds so much fabulous texture to your card. That’s the sandcastle of legend too!

  4. What a fabulous beach card! I love your sandcastles. Thank you for playing along with us at Cardz 4 Galz. I hope to see you in the gallery again soon. Sue – DT

  5. Wonderful beach card ! Love the use of sandpaper, it gives even more life to your adorable beach scene. Thanks so much for sharing and for playing at DotMCC.
