Cardz 4 Guys #332 – Shades of Brown/Fall Colors

Today’s new challenge starting at Cardz 4 Guys (#332) has a theme of “Shades of Brown/Fall Colors.” As summer is winding down this it’s the perfect time to start working on some fall and Thanksgiving cards and play along with the challenge, just be sure you create something that is geared for a guy!

As I get a little more adventurous in my card making I decided to make a mixed media tag for this challenge. I used a kraft colored tag and applied several layers of different mediums (distress oxide inks, translucent embossing paste, stamps, burlap, enamel dots, paint splatters).

I also made the two leaves by stamping and die cutting them, ink blending the color onto them, then spraying them with alcohol. While wet I crumpled them up, flattened them out enough to lay flat, and let them dry. This gives them a lot of texture and they look like and feel like real leaves!
