I started my OCAD challenge 1/30/24, and decided to start posting them to my blog. I don’t want to write a post every day so decided to do a monthly recap of all the cards I’ve completed. (Click HERE or the OCAD page on the menu bar for more details.)
3/1/24 -3/3/24
Continuing with the set I used for the last post of February’s OCAD, so I finished several cards over these three days.
3/4/24
Made today’s card for a challenge in a Facebook group. It was from a video by Jennifer McGuire that gave some samples of how to use paper strips. (You can find the video HERE.)
3/5/24
Today I completed a lesson from an Altenew Academy class I bought when they had an 80% off sale. This was a great deal, included a stamp set with dies, 2 cover dies, a second stamp set, and a pad of paper – all for $20.19! Plus you get access to the recorded instructional videos. So these cards were from lesson 1. The colored flowers on the first card are inlaid die cuts. I guarantee I will NOT be making another card like that one!
3/7/24
Today’s cards are from the first lesson of the Pinkfresh Studio Spring online event. I learned a few new things and really love how they turned out!
3/8/24
Used the sunray stencil with some leftover butterflies to make today’s card. I love these bright colors!
3/10/24
Just got a few new Lawn Fawn sets so I put together this quick card today.
3/11/24
Did the second lesson of an Altenew class, this time with some water coloring, a die cut where additional details were added. Also did a third card with a set from Altenew that uses a cover die with stencils, but used paint markers to color in the stencil. The markers show up on black, and have a shimmery look to them in real life.
3/12/24
Two cards I made today are from an Altenew online class with never used products.
3/13/24
Completed two more classes from the Altenew online classes today.
3/14/24
A new die cut came free with my order so I wanted to put together a card with it to see what it looked like.
3/16/24
Got out a kit that I had purchased from Catherine Pooler last fall and finally put it to use, it’s called “Baking Spirits Bright.” I made a lot of cards, but saving for future challenges, but here’s a couple extras.
3/18/24
Made several more with the “Baking Spirits Bright” kit.
3/22/24
Colored and die cut a bunch of new Lawn Fawn images and put together this card and tag with some of them.
3/24/24
Made a few more cards with the Baking Spirits Bright set.
3/25/24
Today’s cards were made from a set by Altenew, layering stamps that I put in my Stamp Wheel. I also made a card that was taught by Jennifer McGuire in which four circles are folded in half and glued to a square base. The flaps fold over each other, like a cardboard box, and then tuck together to close. A belly band keeps it all looking neat and closed.
3/26/24
Used some things from my “bits and pieces” drawer to finish this one before Easter.
3/29/24
Continued with the second lesson from Pinkfresh Studios Spring Event.
3/30/24
Today’s card uses a new cover plate die from Altenew. I think it would look better with all the hearts filled in, but I didn’t feel like taking the time to do that this time! (Lazy!)
3/31/2024
Created a few cards using some “end of the jar” embossing paste on some previously cut rectangles. The flowers were some leftover pieces from another card, so I put everything together for these cards.
Such a fantastic collection – you’ve had a very productive month!
