Krafty Chicks #603 – CAS

Happy Krafty Chicks Thursday! This week our challenge is to create a Clean and Simple card – there aren’t any super strict rules for a CAS card, but typically there is lots of white space, minimal layers and embellishment, and one main focal point.

I used a set from Divinity Designs for this card. I stamped the heron and then made a mask to put over it. Next I stamped the netting with a background stamp through a hand made “stencil,” and used the same stencil to blend some blue ink over. Finished it off with some Copic coloring and a Happy Birthday sentiment.

This month we are honored to have Tenia Nelson join us as our guest designer. Please visit her blog Jazzy Paper Designs as well as the other chicks blogs for more ideas and inspiration!

  1. I love the way you’ve made a beautifully CAS card Melanie, but with lots of detail. The homemade stencil shape is brilliant and gives a real sense of net in water and I love the frame. Vicky x

  2. I love all things nautical…this card is not exception!! That netting overlay is perfect for a backdrop!! Herons are so beautiful when they spread their wings!! Way to go shopping your stash. Thanks for playing long with our “spread your wings” challenge over at SOS!!

  3. What a lovely stamp of the heron, I’ve not seen anything like this before. You have done a great job of spotlighting it with the netting background but keeping it CAS too. Thanks for playing along with The Male Room. X
