Festive Friday #114 – International Owl Awareness Day

It’s Festive Friday! We have a new challenge starting today, and this time our festivity is “International Owl Awareness Day.” We used that to come up with ten items for our Inspo List, and if you would like to join the challenge just choose any 3 (or more) of those items to use on your card or project. Whether or not you follow the theme of the festivity is totally up to you!

The items I used from the Inspo List were owl, texture, torn paper, and brown. The background was created with some glitter paste through a stencil. I tore the sides of the paper to create a narrower panel so I could add a little color behind it. The branch and leaf dies are from My Favorite Things. I found a cute “owly” sentiment in a set also from My Favorite Things and instead of die cutting it I tore the edges of that too.

  1. That little owl is a hoot! Love the eyes. The texture is the perfect background for this bird, and I love that you made that panel narrow so that you could add some extra color. Love the little branch that he’s perched on too.

  2. Oh, Melanie! This is such a cute card. I love the blue owl. The stenciled background is the perfect backdrop. What a fun sentiment! Have a wonderful weekend!

  3. Melanie, this is fabulous! I absolutely love that little owl and the fact that you colored him in blue to really stand out. This card makes me smile!
