Growing up in the midwest I just got used to the falling leaves and pretty colors of autumn. Now that I live in Arizona our fall season is not anything like that was, however I still love to make autumn themed cards. This card is my team card for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge (#388) but I combined it with a couple other challenges to give me more ideas and inspiration.
I chose my colors from the challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare (#413) which is a tic-tac-toe board. I used the top row: sangria for the leaves, and canary and toffee for the blended background. I also used espresso and gold on my card.
Other challenges I would like to join:
Cut It Up! (#209) has a theme of “Happy Fall, y’all!” and also requires at least three layers, and as always you must use a die cut on your card.
TGIF (#283) – The challenge there is to use an ink blending technique. I created my background by swiping yellow and brown ink pads on a plastic mat, then spritzing with water, and “smooshing” my paper through it to blend and mix the inks. I dried it with a heat tool and repeated the process until I had something I liked.
The Rainbow Card Challenge (#21) – color palette of “Autumnal Amber”
Crafty Catz (#520) – anything goes with an optional twist of “colors of autumn”
Crazy 4 Challenges (#554) – slimline card
Daring Cardmakers – “S” for September – use at least three things starting with S on your card: sequins, sentiment, scallop edge on the die, and hard to see, but I used paint splatters on the background.
