Today I made one last Valentine’s project, a 3-D mailbox. I saw quite a few Valentine’s/Love/ Heart challenges going on so I got motivated! Since the challenge over at CRAFT Challenge #586 is for something that is “not a card” I decided to make this mailbox project.
I started with a mailbox die cut (no idea who it is made by) of which I cut two, then I measured and cut two pieces to use as the sides. To hold the hearts and birds I made two “bridge” pieces that are hidden in the middle. The hearts and birds are attached to strips of acetate.
The bird stamps are from Technique Tuesday, and instead of coloring them I paper pieced them. I was inspired by the challenge at Color My Heart Color Dare #431, which is asking for all shades of pink, with only one other color, any neutrals are permitted.
