Watercolor Seahorse

Welcome! Today’s card was made using a technique I tried for the challenge at CAS Mix Up – Print Making with Die Cuts. I do like to play around with watercolor a little bit now and then, but this is the first time I have used die cuts to make watercolor prints.

I started by die cutting several seaweed and seahorse images from mixed media paper. I colored them with Zig watercolor markers, then spritzed them with water. While they were wet I pressed them onto some more mixed media paper to make the print. I had a design in mind (although it took several tries to get it somewhat close to what I wanted). I added a little more color with some ink and water to fill in some of the white space, then I used the same inky die cuts to arrange over my prints.
