Polka Dot Dragon

The new challenge is starting over at the Alphabet Challenge, we are on the letter D – for “dragons or dinosaurs.” Although I have nothing against them, my stamp selection is very limited in that category. However, I just bought a set from Jane’s Doodles because I knew this challenge was coming up, and I thought it was actually pretty cute!

Instead of coloring the dragon I decided to stamp it on some patterned paper and cut it out. The sentiment is also from the same set, but since it was photopolymer I was able to put it on the Misti so it would curve around the bottom of the die cut. After stamping it I heat embossed it with clear powder to give it a little shine. The final touch was to add some matching hearts.

I would also like to join in the challenge at the Paper Players (#541) which is a clean and simple challenge using polka dots, and the colors I chose were purple and teal so I could play along at Color Hues (#18) as well. This week the challenge at Krafty Chicks Challenge (#560) is anything goes that is clean and simple.

  1. What a great idea to bend the sentiment around the oval panel and to PP the dragon!

  3. HI Melanie! This polka dot cutie is wonderful with the purple/teal color combo! I love all of the dots! I just wanted to let you know that this will be my final challenge with the Alphabet Gang – I am taking some time off from DT responsibilities except for one team in hopes of spending more time with family and traveling now that we have been vaccinated! I will be able to see your amazing creations on IG! Take care!

  6. You’ve created such a wonderful dragon project. I love to see all the different occasions that dragons/dinos have been used for, and I realized to my surprise that many of them are not your stereotypical (i.e. masculine) creations. The idea of using the dragon stamp on patterned paper is brilliant – I’d never guess! Your colour combo is great, too, and the card as such really is magical.

    Hugs, Veronika
