Paper Players Color Challenge

Today’s card features several NEW things! It always feels like an accomplishment when I use new supplies, but also when I try a new technique or design. Well today I made a card that was inspired by the color challenge at the Paper Players (#549), which you can see below. I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches (#494), also shown below.

What I used that was new:

  1. the circle dies (which were from Spellbinders sale section ☺)
  2. the embossing folder, which is really just a long, skinny one, to add some texture to the side of the card – that has been in my collection for years and has never been used!
  3. the “Mini-slimline” sized card, have been seeing them all over but this is the first I decided to try. Bad news is I have no envelopes that fit so I used a piece of matching paper to make my own!

Additional Challenges:

Sisterhood of Crafters – dry or heat embossing

Dies R Us #173 – anything goes with dies

  1. Such a great card, Melanie! I really love those leaf dies you used and how you incorporated them with the color challenge. You even managed to enter it into my embossing challenge at the Sisterhood of Crafters so thank you for that! Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I LOVE things in threes and I love these sweet circle dies! They work beautifully with that gorgeous lattice die and it’s always fun to make your own envelopes too! Thanks for sharing this with us at the Players…the recipient will certainly cherish it!

  3. A beautiful sympathy card, Melanie! I love how you used the challenge colors. These dies are awesome! Thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!

  4. So pretty, Melanie! Sympathy cards are always so tough to make but I love the simple details you added to your card. Thanks so much for joining us this week over at The Paper Players!
