Festive Friday #FF0110 – National Best Friends Day

It’s time for a new challenge at Festive Friday! This time we are featuring National Best Friends Day, which is what we used to come up with the 10 items on our Inspo List. If you would like to play along, simply choose any 3 items from the list to include on your card or project. It’s up to you if you want to follow the festivity or not!

The items that inspired my card were feminine, sparkle, friendship sentiment, and paste.

I started with making the flowers and leaves with a stencil/die set by Gina K. Designs. I set those aside to create a background. How that came together was a hit or miss process, but ended up working with the flowers. I used some white embossing paste with a stencil just on the left side of the card, then when dry I did some ink blending over it with green. That was kind of washed out looking so I misted some green, shimmery ink on it, but then it was too bright so I used a little white ink to calm it down around the edges. Finally I splattered some white paint on it. After all that I realized the flowers covered up most of it anyway!

  1. Beautiful, Melanie! I love the green background you created. The stenciling with paste adds such great texture. It’s the perfect backdrop for the flowers. Lovely!

  2. Your background is beautiful and though much of it is covered, it is the perfect backdrop for those lovely flowers. A wonderful combination of color and texture. I love it.

  3. Melanie, I love this. I love the texture on the background and I love how you clustered your florals in the center. The white on black for the sentiment really focuses your eye on the middle of the card and those gorgeous blooms. Fabulous card
