It’s Festive Friday and time to start a new challenge! Our festivity this time is “Alice in Wonderland Day.” We used that as inspiration for coming up with the ten items on the Inspo List. The challenge doesn’t require that your card or project follow the theme of the festivity, just that you include at least three of those items from the list.
The items I chose from the list were rabbit, watch/clock, hearts, and magic. In looking through my stamps and supplies I realized I didn’t have anything that was specifically related to Alice in Wonderland, so I did an online search and came across a website with some great digital stamps. The rabbit I found was from Free Vintage Digital Stamps, and was exactly what I was looking for! I colored and fussy cut it while thinking of what to do with it.
I thought this image had a sort of mixed media style to it so I decided to give it a try. The neat thing about creating in a mixed media style is that if you don’t like something you just cover it up with paint or paper and keep going!
I started by smooshing the tag in several colors and layers of wet ink. Then I stamped some large watch images on it.
It looked too flat so I put half of the tag through the Big Shot with an embossing folder and used a distressing tool to roughen up the edges.
Next I added some clear shimmer spray and white paint splatters.
I found some black and white paper to add to the background, which I tore and blended with some black ink.
To finish it off I added some ribbon and a sentiment.
