Friends Are Like Books

Time for our new challenge to start over at Festive Friday! This time our festivity is International Literacy Day, and that is what we used to come up with the 10 items on our Inspo List. To join in the challenge just choose any 3 (or more) of the items to include on your card – whether or not you follow the festivity theme is up to you! We would love to see anything that you’ve been inspired to make by using our list. You have until Monday, August 30 to share your creation.

I used a digital image and I have no idea where I got it from! I have found that there is a lot available online by doing “line art” searches, some lead you to places that require purchase, some are available for free. I don’t use them often, but digital images can be fun because they allow you to easily resize or even do some editing.

I colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut it. I used a large newsprint stamp from Stampin’ Up to make the background, then made my card into an easel card. You can see the top photo how it looks open and upright, below is when it is closed for mailing. I heat embossed a favorite quote for the inside.
