Make the Cards Challenge #9

Happy Monday and hope you had a good weekend! Today is the start of challenge #10 at Make the Cards Challenge and this week we have a challenge to make a masculine card. :You can use any products, style, or technique that you want, just be sure that your card is appropriate for a guy!

The card I am sharing was made with alcohol inks. This is one of those techniques that is fun to do, but you really will never get the same results twice. Since it’s kind of messy and means getting out a lot of supplies, when I do get motivated I usually make a whole bunch of backgrounds and keep them in my stash for future use. You never know when you will find just the right thing to use them for!

After trimming the background to the size I wanted I used a piece of darker brown on the side, on which I added some texture. I “joined” the two pieces with some linen thread. Finally I cut the sentiment, using a metallic paper that stood out from the background.

The link up for the challenge will be open until Saturday evening, 3/27. Please visit the blog for all the details, we hope to see your creation in the gallery!
