Four Square Snowflake

I haven’t played in two of my favorite CAS challenges lately so finally today I found a little extra time to join in at CAS Colours & Sketches #458 (which is a sketch this week) and at Addicted to CAS #214 (which has code word “Snowflake”).

The snowflake (from an ancient Stampin’ Up set!) was stamped with Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink and then heat embossed with a clear/sparkly powder. I used a square die cut to cut the four small squares out with, then a large square die cut to cut the whole thing. I dry embossed the negative piece and inlaid the large square. I inlaid the small squares as well, but used some foam squares to raise them up a little. I found a little tiny sentiment in a recent Simon Says Stamp set that seemed just right to finish it off with.

I am also joining the challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge where they are looking for Clean and Simple and My Time to Craft! #476 where the requirement is to do some embossing.

  2. The four squares is a very cool effect on your card, and looks really hard to do. I really love your CAS design and your embossed background. Thank you for sharing it and playing along with us at ABC Christmas Challenge ~ Wendy
